OSAKA: THE CITY OF KASANE

Playing the behind-the-scenes of creativity together with the reflection of rain.

Scope
Spatial Experience / Narrative Design / Interaction Design

Playing the behind-the-scenes of creativity together with the reflection of rain.

The Shinsaibashi PARCO reopened after ten years, and the special "Japan Design Zone," which incorporates this design, was born, with KiQ handling the direction. Inspired by the cityscape of Osaka, we photographed each district and built an algorithm for its color palette together with AI, incorporating it by data-visualizing onto art and the ceiling.

In this work, where the behind-the-scenes of the space and the streets of Osaka are emotionally linked, we designed the story based on KiQ's philosophy of "Unspoken Experiences" (the nameless moments)—that the colors of the streetscape hold meaning. We scooped up that beauty of color and reflected it onto a rainy Osaka, distilling it into video while imbuing it with special meaning.
