OKINOSHIMA VR

Munakata's Okinoshima—a UNESCO World Heritage "island where gods dwell." docomo produced an 8K×VR video featuring Okinoshima, and we at KiQ handled the direction. The entire island was filmed with a drone-mounted camera, and to make the footage VR+8K compatible, an app was developed for viewing on a smartphone × head-mounted display. Inspired by the ancient ritual "Kami-matsuri," hieroglyph-like characters were adopted as a design code. As an island where gods dwell—where one cannot normally set foot—the place was visualized. As of 2020 it is exhibited at a roadside station in Munakata City, Fukuoka, inviting many people as content for exploring an imaginative world of knowledge.
