Inside KiQ’s Internship, Part 1: The Real-World Experience Aspiring Art-School Designers Need

At KiQ, two students are internship.
What background do you join and work? How did you learn? In the form of a dinning with Kikuchi, we will share the voice of interns.

Mi::

Before starting the internship, there weren’t a lot of experience as a job. I wanted to design in-house rather than contracting work individually, and I applied to intern to know KiQ where I collected information at the university jobCentral center.

At the beginning, I was attracted by the way I work with the desired flextime system. I liked that I am good at flat design. I liked drawing from the original, but I did not know my field of expertise. Although there are vague favorites, I did not decide where to go byWhat in the future, but I was able to realize while doing various things as work.

Forest:
I started 4th internship. I wanted a place where various designs are involved in a wide range of fields.

Originally, I wanted to design a car. To make the dream come true to the university. However, when I was involved in the design of a car in the intern, I realized that my desired job may be another one. Other people seemed to like cars anyway, but compared to that, my car lover likes something cool, and I found that it was one of them.

I think “cool” is also feeling the ease of operation and the feeling of pushing the button of the calculator at hand now. I was originally interested in products, but I was interested in clothing, music, and video in university life. Therefore, I want to learn with a wide range of designs and continue to study.

HomeWhat kind of business do you have?

Forest:
At KiQ, we have been involved in a variety of things, such as space design of stores and creating video content. It is a place where I feel rewarding to create a wide range of designs I wanted.

Mi::
I left the book layout, design illustrations, and pictograms. There are many flat design and graphic design. Currently, we design installations using 3DCG. I have created an installation work in a class and I have no experience. However, it is very study to be involved in the design that colors the space.

HomeIs it good to have an internship?

Mi::
I think it is better to make use of what I have experienced and learned. For example,。 application. I have been dealing with my ho s, but now I have a demonstration and image. I want to the technology, but I am happy to have the opportunity to utilize what I have done in the past.

Forest:
Thank you for your understanding. It is fun because there is a lot of opportunities that you can take out something that you can get out of your own drawer in a technical place and make it a little higher.

HomeWhat kind of background did you have in charge ofCG?

Mi::
I didn’t have confidence, so I didn’t know if I couldCG, but I left Kikuchi.

:
Yeah, I heard that I wanted to create a video, so I wanted to leave it at my discretion.
I have to be able to recognize the space or create a world view, but I think that Mi、 will do my best to express it as I can, even if I do not know.

There are many designers who can make their own world view from the mid-20s. That’s why I’m looking for everyone interns to draw with me with a supple feeling. I feel that the work of creating 0 to 1 is captured with a straight feeling.

Mi::

Because it is a client work, it is often necessary to make with amazing momentum while there is FIX every time. In the challenging contents, I think that what I can do is desperately, and I try to do it first. It is a feeling that we can make new discoveries in the form, modify and improve, and always challenge the top.

HomeIs there any other internships you might have?

Forest:
What I think about is the part of how to proceed with the project and how to do it while working with multiple people. I’ve been working alone to produce Resultfacts. This is a very study of how to discuss with you.

It is usually online because you are in Fukuoka. At that time, I thought that it was a good job. I can concentrate on my favorite things, and it is work. It was a day that I felt that it is important to do what I really want to do, regarded with such people as those who are working with enthusiasm.

When I had a lot of work alone, I felt that it was a little different from what I had imagined that I could leave it to people. Once you enter KiQ, you will be able to say that you can’t do it yourself. Since I have been focusing on product design, I often have a different approach from other areas such as graphics, and I can make it hard.

My company and project are always assembled by professionals. Each project is completely different depending on the client’s thoughts and nature. I think it is quite important to have a team building to work smoothly.

I have seen a variety of professional people to be independent. I have been working with the top level people of each industry such as Mr. Yoshiyoshi Akiyama, Mr. Yumega Miyahara, and Mr. Hirohiro Ishiguro, a robot researcher. There is a feeling that everyone of the team wants to steal with their eyes by looking after a professional. We are trying to create a challenging environment for KiQ. I would like to become a professional. In order to do so, it is necessary to be competitive and improve, but first, know your own color. And it is impossible to reach if you can not see what you want to do. I want to be a professional in my field.
