How Should Humans Engage with Machines in the AI Era?

“Shosa-Future、ue-” is a joint research project of KiQ and ATR. It is an installation born from the idea of CEO Akane Kikuchi in 2019. “Shosa” means the behavior that expresses the mind. The project will be held at Kyoto ATR on June 11th. This is the second edition of the report.

Ishiguro: I think it should be more harmonious from familiar mechanics such asmachine machines. I have never met amachine machine that seems to be important, and I can have moreMachine machines. Why not have a vending machine that mischievously shortchanges you? (laughs).

Kikuchi: I think it is most important to understand how humans differ from machines in human machining and deviceization. For example, in the boom of generated AI, the demand for prompt engineering is increasing, but it should not be able to handle things that can only be answered to AI and that humans do not instruct. Is such a need becoming more pronounced in the past 10 years?

Funayama: Although human error is not implemented as a function for the machine, it is quite important to give humanity to non-functional parts, and I think it is a range that is not designed.

S。 Researcher: SY’s products have instructions for CS departments to achieve perfection, so human errors may not be comfortable for users. It depends on the person. It is difficult to do business, but it is interesting.

Funayama: I think that the method of making sense ofHome by ambiguity is effective this time, and the function is reliably vague as a communication interface, and it is possible to coexist as a home appliance.

–Do you change human wellbeing?

Ishiguro: I don’t like a well-being method, but I don’t feel stress from the machine or digital if I think there is a wellbeing in the future.

Kikuchi: I think the world is well-being that is difficult to convey, people who are not good at communication can easily overcome, and people who are free to communicate. I think that people who are suffering from human relations and people who are suffering from communication are constant and the most troublesome.

Sakuma Kaido (hereinafter, Sakuma): When the child is in contact with the child, the child lives in the world of manga, that is, the world of non-language information is visualized and linguisticated in the background. A world close to this installation. Children may be able to communicate freely and may be able to learn.

Ishiguro: I think it is good to perform monster strikes. It would be nice if the world of pets will be full with VR. If you are a VR, you want to beat the waves (laughs).

Takashi Minato: Wellbeing is defined as ○○. Each person has a well-being. That’s why robots and AI must be considered to be well-being adapted to each person.

High-context dialogue finished safely. It was a glowing feeling that I could not talk with each other yet, and continued to diarlogue at a social gathering.

By the way, there was an application in Ars Electronica during the sentence, but the result was announced in mid-June. Sorry, this entry is only available in Japanese. We will close this report by attaching this special note to the members who exchanged on SNS.

Ishiguro: If you do not experience it may be difficult to realize the work

Sakuma: There are many works that cannot be answered when you hear that you make it for each of the winning works. Of course, there were personal favorites.

In that sense, there was a part that I adjusted in such a way as “I want to ask for the world!” when I made the application summary, but it is also interesting how to develop and evolve by returning to the intrinsic interest of equal size. Home On the contrary, I was thrown a stone if I had a grand prize.

Funayama: Yeah. I thought I saw some winning works, but I thought it was too abstract and difficult to ask for the world. I think it is better to make extreme appeal by narrowing down to something more than one point, such as tie-up between people and machines, training of physical movement, etc. However, even if I do it, I thought that the work itself is not something biased so far.

Kikuchi: Thank you for your feedback. In the next 10 years, digitization progressed, digital friction between humans and machines, etc., I think it would be good to inflate my , experiment with this in children’s education, do this in a pretty countryside, and the scene story was weak. I thought it would be nice if there was contrast and surprisingness.
