Hip-Hop and Geisha Training: My Journey of Self-Expression
Hello, I’m Akane Kikuchi.
Let me talk a little about my history today.
My childhood
When I was young, I was very introverted and Closeent. When I was wearing kimono at the age of 3, I remember that I was crying. I was sensitive to new things and had a strong question for adult behavior. I saw a lot of people who change their attitudes in the house and outside, and I was worried about “How is this different?” This feeling of discomfort continued from the fourth grade of elementary school to the third grade of high school, and it was also from the stress to the round al、cia.
Hip
When I was 15 years old, I met black music, especially hipMusic. I was fasc by the freedom of self-expression, and I had theHome to live in front of my identity. In the Japanese culture at that time, it was a big shift to me because it was negative to see what I like. I don’t like my parents too much, but I don’t like to say something common, such as “Come back soon” or “Come homework”. I thought, “How should I do it normally?” I was pursuing self-expression through hip-hop.
18 years old
I was 18 years old and I went to the United States. There was a large turning machine.
When I asked a local black friend about Japan, I started to learn more about the culture of the country I grew up.
I wanted to be a designer, I felt that I should know more about Japanese culture, which is my roots in order to establish a design identity, and I started training ge after returning home. Through ge training, I learned about Japanese culture and work. I realized that it is an important element that expresses the inner surface of people by pointing to physical movement and attitude. I was convinced that I could extend my potential and lead a rich and deep life by wearing my work.
If you look back on your life so far, I think that it has a great influence on yourself to jump in the moment you feel rather than going on planned. We are also working on research of the work while continuing creative work. I often think too much in my mind when I become an adult, but I feel that the momentum and。 of that time continue to hold.
Vision for the Future
I believe that I can help human evolution by sharpening my senses through physical knowledge and work. By expressing a non-verbal part, it is my goal to help people, to encounter beauty, and to be aWorld world.
We will continue to convey the importance of our work, and we will create a future where young people like me, people of the same age, and everyone can live a fulfilling life.
