Event Report, Part 1: EDU × ART Conference—Coexistence Between Robots, Education, and Art

On November 12, 2024, ATR and the Creative Studio KiQ joint project “Shosa: Future 。ue” were held at ATR in Keihanna Gakuken City.

The theme is “coexistence with robots in education and art” and the educators, researchers and creators discussed how robots will be introduced to homes and educational sites in the future, and the possibility of robot interactions with people through “work”

Speakers:

Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro: Professor, Graduate School of Basic Engineering, Osaka University, Visiting Director, ATR Hiro Ishiguro Special Laboratory, Osaka World Expo Theme Project Producer, AVITA Co., Ltd. A researcher in robotics interested in avatars, intelligent robots, arts and philosophy.

Tomo Funayama: Android interaction creator. Developed autonomous Android interaction design system, aiming to realize the value of Android interaction.

Japanese: KiQ’s Founder and CEO, Director, Researcher We recognize the behavior and behavior of humans and robots from the viewpoint of “sho ” and act internationally in a unique way of expression.

Toshiki Miyauchi: After graduating from university, he joined Yahoo Japan Corporation in 2006.     Lectures and discussions by. Prof. Ishiguro explained, “The ambiguous expression of the robot brings out theRobot of people and creates deep communication,” and the other speaker gave an opinion on the potential of robots in the home and educational field.

For the use of robots in the educational field, Marais explained, “The robot’s work will bring out the feelings of the children and become an opportunity to interact with their hearts,” said Miyauchi.

In the second part, we will record the results of the participants’ experience and questionnaire, and we will dig deeper into how robots can interact in the classroom and at home.
